The Treatment
The client lies down and relaxes in a tranquil environment. One ear will be treated at a time as the client lies in their side.
The hopi ear candle is lit at the top and the tapered end is gently placed into the ear, the therapist's hands are then placed lightly over the ear to steady the candle. Each candle takes about 10-12 minutes to burn
The client may hear a slight crackling or fizzing noise as the hopi ear candle burns and may also feel warmth around the ear.
Treatment is then repeated for the second ear. A soothing facial massage is performed afterwards, draining the sinuses, reinforcing lymph action and blood flow.
Many people find the use of hopi candles deeply relaxing and often fall asleep during treatment.
After treatment the clients usually describe a soothing, liberating, light sensation in the ear and head area.
